A magnificent crystalline world in China

This cave in Ningwu county, Shanxi, with a history of over three million years, provides remarkable spectacle of icicles, icefalls and ice stalagmites to visitors.  It is called “Wanniandong” in Chinese, or “10,000-year cave”.  Curiously, there is a dormant volcano just 200 meters away from the ice cave, which the locals refer to as “millennium volcano”.
