There’s a swing on the edge of a cliff in Ecuador. It has no safety measures and is called the ‘Swing at the End of the World’. It’s a tourist attraction and in order to get there, you have to hike up the path to Bellavista from Banos, until you reach a viewpoint and a seismic monitoring station named La Casa del Árbol (The Tree-house).

Swing like this is unimaginable, really wants to do some day. 🙂
I can’t do this. It’s dangerous I find.
wow that’s awesome
Amazingly scary! The perfect dilemma between ‘what if’ and ‘lets go’!
if I were there, I definitely feel scared
Wow Amazing but so scary
Is amazing and scary
I was there few weeks ago and I also did few swing got some pictures. This place is so nice never mind the safety code for this type of activities is so natural you have to be there to get the point
What a magical place. Everything about it is storybook material, including your photos.
Very nice! It is better than paragliding 🙂
Amazing! But scary! Haha I’ve no idea what to think of it really… Not sure if I can handle any of them. It makes for beautiful photos though!
Me … me … I want a go !!!
I would love to try this, the feeling must be ecstatic…I’m already feelt a tug of anxiousness right after I read “there are no safety measures”. Added on the bucket list 🙂
unique!

Cool Blog. Awesome Ecuador post.
I have to admit, I wouldn’t do this one. There is no safety net and I am getting dizzy just looking at it on a computer.

I’m from Ecuador and I’ve done it!! It is an amazing experience . Right next to it the is a line that takes u with a harness from one mountain to the other which is an active volcano ( Tungurahua) AMAZING!!!
How stunning, how frightening, how much I want to try it!
Looks like fun. And safe haha
What an interesting and amazing spot. I just hope the branch doesn’t break at some point!
Hahaha…I hope not!!!
It looks like a scene from a dream, not a real place. Thanks for sharing.

I’d love to swing there!
Super cool!
Too dangerous for me. 🙂
I’d try it only in my dreams :)) but since i started to make my dreams come true, i’ll have to try it one day.

Unquestionable proof that the human-being is crazy.

Something so peaceful built for awe and adrenaline, it would be a wicked experience 😉
That is the coolest and most terrifying swing in the world.
Amazing and so excited! I would like to try it…someday! 🙂
Yeah…. that’s a big no from mala! Eek! 😉
My family used to have a house on the Patuxent River in Maryland. We had an old wooden swing on long ropes that swing from a tree far out over a cliff that led down to the river bank and then over the river. I don’t know how it compared in height and distance, but it felt like I was swinging over the edge of the world.
OMG looks absolutely terrifying (just looking at it!!)
Wow!!! Magical! ❤
Scarily awesome !

WHO of YOU would swing here?
Me – NO WAY….. I just might fling myself off because it’s SOOOOOOOOOOOO insane!
In a way, I feel like I already do every day…(I do so love to swing, you know). Just much higher stakes (pardon the pun)…and as far as wondering what it would be like to fling yourself into The Abyss, well it’s the wondering that really gives it the Edge I so like to ride upon…want to do it together someday? Imagine what it would be like to simultaneously take the ride and make the choice…to jump into the volcano together.
XO, 😉
Chazz
That I cou;ld do – together. Togetherness adds strength. Alone, I would first of all do an army crawl kinda close to the edge to see how far I’d fall and then I’d check the ropes for security. Of course, given the right time, and the joyful spirit and the abandon of living, I could throw all caution to the wind and swing with no underwear in my beautiful gown… it just depends on the moment.
Yesssss.
If I’m going to try swinging, I’m bringing a parachute with me.
Anyway, I don’t worry about the swing builder, I worry about the branch the swing is attached unto. More like a twig if it’s your turn to swing.
Oh. My. Gawd! 😯
I get the willies just looking at these photos! I would not have the courage…
oh how beautiful and scary …
wow! that is some insane faith in the swing-builder!
fantastic!!
Wow… not sure I’d be able to handle that with my fear of heights!! Would be worth a visit though!
Nice! I would like to be there right now!
