The Sanzhi UFO houses, also known as the Sanzhi pod houses, were a set of abandoned pod-shaped buildings in Sanzhi District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The buildings were constructed in 1978. They were intended as a vacation resort in a part of the northern coast adjacent to Tamsui, and were marketed towards U.S. military officers coming from their East Asian postings. However, the project was abandoned in 1980 because of the dissension of the investors and the buildings were scheduled to be torn down in late 2008. There are many rumors about this place, but many of them are groundless and baseless. Such like the place is haunted or they found many dead body under there. As of 2010, all UFO houses have been demolished and the site is in the process of being converted to a commercial seaside resort and water-park.

Would be nice if they’d renovated the houses instead of bringing them down.
Apart from being a recreational center, it would also mark a moment in history.
